"How To Be A Photo Explorer"

“How to be a Photo Explorer” is a casual fun filled workshop for children age 7-12 years old. Children will spend a lovely morning exploring nature and taking pictures around the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden. Learn how to use the camera, tips and tricks to capture a good photo. At the end of the workshop, children will..

  • Be exposed to different types of photography like nature, portraits and more!

  • Use the macro button to take close up and detailed shots of nature

  • Learn what it takes to be a Gosh photo explorer

*All Materials Included: Compact Digital Camera with a memory card. Let us know if you wish to bring your own cameras. 

Fee: $70 (inclusive of a lunch set meal of your choice)

Duration: 3 hours

Workshop Schedule -
10am Welcome + Introduction

  • Meet & Greet

  • Introduction to basic photography

  • Participants will learn about different types of photography

  • Participants will learn how to use the camera

10:30am Hands on: Explore and take pictures

  • Participants will explore and take pictures of different types of photography

  • Participants will be challenged with surprise items (eg: color filters, miniature, toys etc) while they explore and take pictures

11:15am Hands on: Get Crafty!

  • Participants will receive printed pictures of their photos they took with their cameras

    (4 best shots per child)

  • Participants will get crafty and will DIY their own photo explorer book with the printed pictures and crafty materials

12:15pm Lunch:

  • Enjoy a delicious meal by Food For Tots.

    Includes:
    - Your choice of Pasta, Fish & Chips, or Pancakes

    - Small juice pack + 1 scoop of ice-cream

12:45pm Review: Show & Tell!

  • Participants will share their adventure with everyone!

  • Parents are welcome to join in!

  • Certificate Presentation Ceremony

1:00pm End of Workshop.
