1. What If My Child Doesn't Speak The Local Language?

 

No worries — your child does not need to speak the local language to participate. Being immersed in a different language is part of the experience. Children will learn to navigate a new environment through play, observation, gestures and everyday interactions with their teachers and new friends. Some of our non-English partner preschools have English-speaking educators, while others operate mainly in their local language. We’ll let you know what to expect before your exchange.

2. What If My Child Has Difficulty Settling In?

 

Every child settles in differently, especially when everything around them feels new. Our partner preschools are experienced in caring for young children, and teachers will support your child according to their usual settling-in practices. We’ll also prepare your family before the trip so you know what to expect. If there are any significant concerns during the programme, the preschool and Gosh! Kids will stay in communication with you.

3. How Do You Choose The Right Preschool For My Child?

 

We take the time to understand your family before recommending a preschool. We consider your child's age, language ability, travel dates, family preferences and what you hope to get out of the experience. From there, Gosh! Kids will curate a suitable preschool and coordinate the application with our local partners. Final placement is subject to the preschool's availability and approval.

4. What Will My Child Actually Experience At Preschool?

 

Your child won't be attending a special programme created just for visiting children. They'll step into the everyday life of a local preschool — joining children in their classroom, playing together, eating together and participating in the school's usual activities and routines. It's a chance for them to experience, even for a short while, what childhood looks and feels like somewhere else in the world.

5. Do Parents Need To Stay With Their Child At Preschool?

Generally, no. Once your child has been handed over to the teachers, they will participate in the school day independently, subject to each preschool's individual policies. And while they're at preschool, you get some time to experience the city too. Explore the neighbourhood, work remotely, have a quiet coffee or simply enjoy everyday life somewhere new. We'll also provide your family with a curated list of things to see, eat and experience during your stay.
